Several years ago, BGB began its journey into circularity. With the appointment of a Business Graduate from Nottingham University, it quickly became clear that circularity wasn’t just a sustainability trend, it was a strategic imperative. Our research identified strong market signals, and in response, BGB moved decisively to test the demand for a dedicated slip ring repair service.
Just over two years ago, we made a bold investment: establishing a specialised Repairs Service, distinct from our core manufacturing operations. This included the formation of a new team and the setup of a dedicated manufacturing cell, strategically located away from our headquarters to foster a focused and agile environment.
Thanks to the support of our customers, supply partners, and employees, this venture has delivered more than 30% year-on-year growth and we expect the same trajectory in 2025. This growth is no accident. It is a direct reflection of the capability, drive, and belief within our team.
At BGB, we operate with a core belief: every slip ring is repairable. Our Repairs philosophy is anchored in what is referred to as the Inertia Principle:
- Don’t repair what isn’t broken.
- Don’t remanufacture what can be repaired.
- Don’t recycle what can still be remanufactured.
Even when a unit is deemed beyond economical repair, we strive to salvage and reuse components wherever possible—only turning to recycling as a last resort.
This principle is always balanced against an unwavering commitment to quality. We ensure every repair meets the highest standards, backed by extended warranties of up to two years because our customers deserve confidence, not compromise.
