Institute Of Technology STEM Day

James and Heather recently represented BGB at the annual Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (LIoT) STEM Challenge, championing engineering to school children around the Lincolnshire area.  This year's Engineering Challenge to schools around the County was to - 'Pick up and pyramid stack 6 blocks using a home-made crane mechanism'.  Located in the EPIC Room at the Lincolnshire showground, over 100 year 9 students competed in the final.

"It was great to see the students fully engaged in the task, and some of the thoughts that had gone into the projects were quite exceptional!. The winners managed to stack their blocks perfectly in less than 1 minute which was absolutely mind-blowing!  It was also fantastic to see the enthusiasm towards engineering and lots of interest received about our wind turbine model and products " said James Tupper, BGB's Head of Marketing.
