Jake & Ethan Pass BGB Apprenticeship

Yesterday the whole of BGB UK came together to celebrate Jake Moore and Ethan Lamming passing their BGB Apprenticeship.

Jake, who started the Engineering apprenticeship four years ago, and Ethan three-and-a-half years ago, both qualified on 5th Aug 2025 and are now full-time BGB employees.

Over the time span, they've both had hands-on experience in every process that goes into making world-class rotary solutions, ranging from moulding and assembly through to design and CNC.  Mixed in with that, both completed 1 day a week at Grantham College to learn material sciences and the fundamental side of engineering.

When asked their favourite part of the apprenticeship, Jake replied "...being hands-on and learning from experienced engineers, particularly on the machinery side of things, gaining my own personal experience has been a highlight, and better still, earning while learning."

Ethan added "...working with good, friendly people on a regular basis made the apprenticeship really educational and fun at the same time."

Nathan Flower, BGB UK Production Manager commented, "Both lads have been a pleasure to work with, they've taken onboard all the advice, training and culture to become superb full-time employees.  The completion of the apprenticeship is not just a testament to their technical ability, but also of their perseverance, hard work and dedication to completing. Added to that a clear passion for engineering and a willingness to learn. They’ve faced challenges head-on, adapted to new environments, and consistently pushed themselves to improve. They'll have a long future in engineering ahead of them and they've made some giant steps through the apprenticeship programme to give them the best start in their careers."

Both Ethan and Jake have now asked to be put on a year-and-a-half HNC course in Mechanical Engineering, in which they will start in the coming months.

Thinking of an Apprenticeship?  Here's some advice from them both:

Ethan - "Listen, learn and take on board any advice from experienced people."

Jake - "Learn from experienced workers, don't rush into anything you're not sure of, be careful and always ask for help when uncertain. Don't be afraid to speak to your employer to help resolve any problems with the course.
